About
the 2002 Multiphoton
Gordon Conference
The 11th in a series of even-year conferences which will be
held this summer on the campus of Tilton School, the 2002
Multiphoton Processes Gordon Conference will join researchers
working on fundamental aspects of multiphoton processes in
atomic and small molecular systems with those interested in
applications to systems of chemical and physical interest. The
Conference will begin with a Sunday evening Poster Preview
followed by the world-class wine and cheese reception. Since
scientific sessions are scheduled for the mornings and
evenings only, afternoons are free for discussions and/or
recreational activities.
For the 2002 conference, we have decided to have
discussions in a number of areas that are of great interest to
both the laser physics and the laser chemistry communities.
The subject areas to be discussed in detail will be:
- Alignment and orientation in molecular photodissociation
- High
harmonic generation and applications
- Attosecond
pulse generation
- Light
manipulation
- Wavepackets and adaptive control
- Collective
effects in multiphoton excitation
- Spectroscopy and dynamics of large molecules and
clusters
- Multiphoton spectroscopy
- Photoionization dynamics
- Strong field atomic and molecular effects (relativistic
and non-relativistic)
The schedule of invited speakers
for this year's conference is almost complete. The poster
session, which serves as a central focus of the
conference, is now being organized. All posters will be up all
week in a large venue with refreshments and a discussion area.
This year, we have left some space in the program for a
small number of shorter presentations by younger scientists,
to allow the most recent developments in this field to be
discussed. The presentations wil be chosen from the submitted
posters, with the choices being made one month before the
conference.
Limited conference
support may be available for students and young scientists
