Abstract:

One-electron reduction of Ru(menbpy)32+ (menbpy = 4,4'-di((1R,2S,5R)-(-)-menthoxycarbonyl)-2,2'-bipyridine) by pulse radiolysis produces a Ru(II) complex of a menbpy-centered anion radical, which reduces D-Co(acac)3 more rapidly than L-Co(acac)3 with an enantioselectivity of 2.7 in 85% EtOH/H2O.
